$3,5m to date from NIPP - DTI

South Africans have benefited to the tune of $3,5-billion in the last eight years as a consequence of the country's Strategic Defence Procurement (SDP) programme and other government purchases, the Department of Trade and Industry said on Friday...



Reporting to the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Trade and Industry, with an updated (March 2004 - August 2005) report on the implementation of the National Industrial Participation (NIP) programme, the DTI covered black economic-empowerment (BEE), partnerships between participating entities, skills development and a review of milestones set for the primary contractors involved in the SDP programme.
