AfriSam restructures debt
Summit TV speaks to AfriSam chairman Elias (Eltie) Links about their restructured BEE deal involving the PIC
Giulietta Talevi: Welcome to Business Q&A. The structure of many BEE deals is under the spotlight at the moment - a lot of them are in difficulty - but one that seems to have charted a fairly positive course having refinanced and restructured its debt is AfriSam the largest black controlled construction materials group in South Africa after signing a deal with Holcim back in 2007 worth around R14billion. Eltie, you've managed to restructure and refinance a large chunk of your debt - a very substantial number - how have you done that and strike such favourable terms?
