AVI ‘hamstrung' by delay of BEE codes

DURBAN — Delays to the release of the trade and industry department’s codes of good practice on black economic empowerment were hindering the ability of consumer goods group AVI to develop a relevant empowerment equity structure, chairman Tony Ardington said in the company’s annual report...



The group had appointed advisers to assist in developing an appropriate empowerment equity structure, but said the review may have to be extended in the light of the delays.
