Barloworld sells Scandinavia units to focus on SA market
Barloworld has decided to dispose of its Avis and Budget car rental units in Scandinavia.
Clive Thomson, the chief executive of the listed distribution group, said yesterday the rationale for the decision was that in Scandinavia it only had a car rental business and strategically it needed to build what it had in South Africa with long-term fleet leasing, car rental and motor rental to be able to leverage the right level of return on investment.
