BBBEE Amendment Bill up for scrutiny

Stiff fines and penalties in the offing for fronting.

JOHANNESBURG - A Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) Amendment Bill released for public comment is proposing stiff penalties and fines for people found guilty of fronting.



The Bill says anyone found guilty of misrepresenting or attempting to misrepresent the BBBEE status of an enterprise could be liable to a fine or imprisonment not exceeding ten years or both a fine and jail sentence.
