BEE in agriculture needs work

Despite commendable steps for initiating broad-based black economic empowerment within the agricultural sector, a host of challenges and deficiencies need to be addressed, the Industrial Development Corporation said on Wednesday.

A joint survey by the IDC and the Agricultural Business Chamber had highlighted that for BEE to succeed within the sector, the public and private sectors had to focus on managerial development, the IDC said in a statement.
