BEE ‘long overdue in tourism industry’
Tourism may be booming, but it is lagging in the black empowerment stakes, with only 6% of the industry owned by blacks, says Black Economic Empowerment Tourism Charter Council chairman Tami Sokutu...
Black stakeholders had called for the strict implementation of the industry’s charter to empower small and medium enterprises to also benefit in the programmes aimed at unlocking a great number of tourist opportunities, he said.
