Boards bow to pressure from PIC

In the past two weeks, three large JSE-listed companies - Pretoria Portland Cement (PPC), JD Group and Nampak - have stated that they were about to make significant changes to their boards in order to bring them into line with best corporate governance practices.

This appears to be a response to pressure from the Public Investment Corporation (PIC), which holds 16 percent of PPC, 10 percent of JD Group and 8 percent of Nampak.
