BVA Welcomes the BEE Council appointment by the President
ABVA (the Association of BEE Verification Agencies) welcomes the decision by President Jacob Zuma to establish the long awaited BEE Advisory Council in terms of the B-BBEE Act of 2003.The establishment of the BEE Advisory Council was the first thing to have been done before the gazetting of the 2003 B-BBEE Codes.
ABVA views this establishment as part of the necessary process of institutionalizing Black Economic Empowerment government policy. The Council also provides a platform for ABVA to engage with government in advising them on:
- Challenges in terms of the verification codes and
- Proposed solutions to these challenges.
As part of its terms of reference the Council will allow the possibility of reviewing the codes which ABVA will assist with in providing recommendations.
