Government listens to civil society on ways to tackle poverty

The Presidency of South Africa, under the leadership of Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe, will convene a two-day consultation from Tuesday 8 to Wednesday 9 December 2009, in Johannesburg. The consultation aims to consolidate engagement with civil society organisations on strategies to end poverty.

Southern Africa Trust Set for Greater Collaboration with Mauritius

The Southern Africa Trust today the 3rd of September signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Social Security, National Solidarity and Senior Citizens Welfare and Reform Institutions of Mauritius and the Mauritius Council of Social Service (MACOSS) to co-operate in building the capability of civil society to engage in pro-poor policy influencing work at the national and regional levels. The MoU is aimed at promoting greater citizen participation in national poverty reduction initiatives and regional integration in Mauritius and the southern Africa region.

All verification agencies that have applied to SANAS for accreditation and have successfully gone through the pre-assessment phase will be issued a letter of acknowledgement from SANAS, which they can use to confirm the validity of the certificates they have issued.

Khanyisa Electrical Suppliers Pty Ltd concludes 30 % deal with Black Consulting Company

Khanyisa Electrical Suppliers Pty Ltd and Siphakamile Holdings Pty Ltd have successfully concluded their BEE negotiations as of 25 November, 2008, with the signing of their shareholders agreement. Their new partner, Siphakamile, is a wholly owned black consulting company and has acquired a thirty percent (30%) equity in Khanyisa.
