Conference on BBBEE planned

THE BBBEE phase 2 codes were released shortly before Christmas. The long awaited release of the new codes for the implementation of Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment was welcomed by the Cape Regional Chamber although disappointment was expressed that the codes had only been made available to the public three working days before Christmas...



Among the codes published is Code 1000 which provides a framework to measure all components of BBBEE for qualifying small enterprises. This code is seen as vital for the growth of this important job-creating sector and the Chamber is pleased to note that there will be certain exceptions for small business to relieve them of some of the onerous elements of BBBEE compliance.
