De Beers in R400m BEE deal

Mining giant De Beers has signed a R400 million deal with Setjhaba carriers, an empowerment consortium for the load and hauling of its Kimberley mines tailings resources. The deal, which is expected to last for nine years, is to produce 55 000 tonnes of material.

Setjhaba, which is a black economic empowerment operating company, has already started transporting tailing resources from disused mines to be treated at De Beers treatment plant
