DTI could improve implementation of BEE programmes - Mpahlwa
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) would have to improve communication around broad-based black economic empowerment (BBBEE) programmes, would have to speed up its work in certain areas, and would have to beef up its capacity in the implementation of certain aspects, but overall, empowerment "was on track", Trade and Industry Minister Mandisi Mpahlwa said on Friday.
Mpahlwa held a forum with industry stakeholders, including Business Unity South Africa, the Black Management Forum and the Chamber of Mines, earlier that morning to discuss a number of issues and the progress made by the DTI in terms of BBBEE.
