Enterprise development given higher weighting in amended BEE law
Cabinet has approved the publication of proposed changes to the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) Act, which have been made in a bid to align the legislation with the New Growth Path (NGP) and the Industrial Policy Action Plan (Ipap).
The Amendment Bill, which has been released for public comment, attributes a higher weighting to the issues of enterprise development and procurement than has hitherto been the case.
