Fuel hunger prompts pipeline build - PetroSA

National oil company PetroSA's plans to build a pipeline from the Coega Industrial Development Zone (IDZ) is the result of identified production capacity limitations in Gauteng which fail to produce sufficient quantities of all grades and types of automotive fuels to meet expected demand.

According to the Energy Security Master Plan recommendations, PetroSA must procure at least 30 % of all crude oil consumed in South Africa. The pipeline will thus play a vital role in the distribution of fuels and meeting the country's supply demands.
