Gautrain reaches speeds of R3m per hour

The Gautrain project is costing R3-million an hour, 24 hours a day. So said Barbara Jensen, spokesperson for Gauteng Province on the Gautrain at an update on the construction of the rapid-rail link.

By the end of the 2006/07 financial year, a total of R4,6-billion had already been spent on the Gautrain and R7,7-billion is expected to be spent by the end of July this year.
