Government's promise

A LONG promised and very significant government policy to give smaller businesses preference when govermnent makes purchases will be implemented from March 2008.

Government departments and state institutions will be allocating to small businesses at least 85% of spend within 10 identified areas of goods and services and they will ensure payment is made within 30 days.
