High court OKs Absa takeover of MeegBank

MEEG Bank, once the country's only black-controlled lender, will soon become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Absa.



The Grahamstown High Court yesterday sanctioned majority shareholder Absa's scheme to acquire full ownership of the troubled Eastern Cape bank, finally bringing to an end months of uncertainty and wrangling over its future.
