Industry lacks transparency, say banks
Johannesburg - The South African banking community on Tuesday bemoaned a lack of transparency as a primary criticism within the industry.
In a survey of 23 banks, 12 of which are foreign-owned and 11 local by auditing group PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), respondents said a lack of transparency in pricing remained an issue, while also citing a lack of disclosure regarding the funding of BEE and within the property sector, as areas of concern.
