Lack of accreditation stymies BEE verification spurt

With the parameters of black economic empowerment (BEE) scorecards having been widened by broad-based requirements, the market for independent BEE verification is, in theory, set for strong growth.


To be recognised as empowered, suppliers must now obtain independently verified broad-based BEE certificates. Previously they could submit self-assessments based on the narrower aspects of ownership and management control.
