Mbeki praises Holcim BEE deal
The decision of the Swiss cement and building company, Holcim, to sell a 85% stake in its South African operation to a black empowerment consortium has been described by President Thabo Mbeki as "truly inspired"...
In his regular online column, ANC Today, on Friday, Mbeki noted a Holcim statement that the company could have gone along with the minimum requirements of black empowerment but the company had viewed it as strategically "a great competitive advantage" to have a black controlled company in place in South Africa.
