New BEE company wins Lotto licence
Gidani, a new black economic empowerment company, has been officially awarded the licence to operate the national lottery. Gidani was announced as the preferred bidder in July, ahead of Uthingo, which has run the lottery since 1999...
Mandisi Mphahlwa, the trade and industry minister, says Gidani presented a strong bid, in which they pledged to contribute 34% of revenue accrued from all ticket sales to the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund.
