New fund will seek to leverage private resources for enterprise development
The Enterprise Development Fund (EDF), launched on Wednesday with a R75-million contribution from the National Empowerment Fund (NEF), will seek to support black enterprise development in South Africa's industrial value chain, as well as act as a catalyst for accelerating job creation in line with government's New Growth Path.
The NEF, which is a Department of Trade (DTI) and Industry agency, would seek to leverage a further R50-million in contributions from the private sector by the time the EDF closes on September 30.
