Nonprofit sector needs new BEE gauge
ON A recent whistle-stop tour to each of our provincial offices, I was constantly presented with challenges from our provincial staff regarding our black economic empowerment status...
Project Literacy is the oldest and only national nonprofit provider of adult basic education in SA. It employs more than 92 full-time staff. Out of nine provincial managers, seven are black South Africans. Eighty percent of our full-time staff are black. In the past financial year, the organisation employed just more than 1000 black part-time educators. All of our beneficiaries are undereducated adult blacks.
