Now Lonmin says 1 500 Limpopo jobs at risk, flags 2009 BEE vulnerability

JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) - The world's third-largest platinum producer, Lonmin Platinum, on Monday formally announced the possible reduction of another 1 500 jobs, this time at its "unprofitable" Limpopo platinum operation, following Friday's announcement that 4 000 jobs were also at risk at its "engine" operation, Marikana.



In a separate interview with Mining Weekly Online, it also flagged possible 2009 vulnerability for its black economic empowerment (BEE) partner, Incwala Resources.
