BHP Billiton concludes R430m Koornfontein sale

Diversified miner BHP Billiton has wrapped up the sale of its wholly-owned Koornfontein mine, an operation within its energy coal division, together with 1,5-million tons a year of Richards Bay Coal Terminal (RBCT) entitlement to a black economic-empowerment (BEE) consortium...

The company said in a statement on Monday that the deal was worth R430-million, adding that it had provided R70-million in vendor finance to the BEE consortium, led by Siyanda Resources and AKA Resources.
