Comair’s R100m share sell-off raises BEE buzz

AVIATION group Comair, operator of British Airways in SA and owner of, has downplayed the sale of a chunk of its shares, worth R100m, to an unnamed “major institution”, which market analysts say may be part of a move to sell a nearly 14% stake to black shareholders...

If so, this would be the largest empowerment deal in the aviation sector, with only budget airline 1time having any black owners whatsoever, amid a tough time for the sector.
