Electronic Data Systems (EDS), the second largest IT services company in the world, announced today the conclusion of a broad-based Black Economic Empowerment transaction that will result in an acquisition by local partners of a minority holding in EDS South Africa (Pty) Ltd (EDS SA). As part of this transaction, the Koketso Gravitas Consortium has acquired a 20% stake in EDS SA and a further 10% of the shareholding will be placed in an Employee Trust for the benefit of EDS SA staff...
The Koketso Gravitas Consortium was specifically established for this transaction and includes as key shareholders Dr Bongani Khumalo, Dali Tambo and Mandla Langa, as well as Dr Adelaide Tambo leading the Zwelonke Mother’s Union – a broad based women’s group representing over forty five worship groups on the East Rand and which undertakes a wide range of social initiatives in the community.
