Strategic Investment marks the return of the Khoi-Khoi and San to the Waterberg

A strategic investment agreement on 26 August 2005 between Khoisan X investment Holdings and InAfrica Safaris of the Waterberg in the Eastern side of Limpopo. Khoisan X representing Khoisan X Investment Holdings and Boer Coetzee representing InAfrica Safaris signed the twofold BEE transaction in the gaming tourism market. On the other hand it marks the historical return of the Khoi-Khoi and San to the Waterberg area and the broader Limpopo.

The Khoisan X Investment Holdings are to take 50% of the shares in Africa Safaris with assets of R60 million. This progressive and farsighted transaction was concluded afters 12 months of intense discussions between the parties involved. The inclusive nature of the 50% equity for the Khoisan Investment Holdings includes:


3000 hectares of land.
One game lodge with 10 units.
One timeshare hospitality unit with private apartments.
A diverse species of game.
A fully functional taxidermy plant.
A well-established customer base in the United States of America.
An internationally accredited hunting operation.
An experienced and qualified team of management, professional hunters, office administrators and a seasoned catering team.

The Waterberg area is littered with evidence of early Khoi-Khoi life including numerous rock art and other artefacts spanning hundreds of years. Khoisan X Investment Holdings are involved as a private investment that does not include any government land restitution claim. This progressive and farsighted transaction was concluded afters 12 months of intense discussions between the parties involved. The inclusive nature of the 50% equity for the Khoisan Investment Holdings includes:


Inafrica Safaris one of the oldest Hunting Outfits in South Africa with over 20 years experience and some of most qualified professional hunters in South Africa entered into agreement to transfer 50% equity of the group to its Black Economic Empowerment partners Khoisan X Investment Holdings. The cornerstones of the partnership will be to:

- Conduct successful trophy hunting operations in other parts of South Africa with emphasis on the Eastern and Northern Cape.
- Assist and train previously disadvantaged members at all management levels and in all criteria of the trophy hunting operation.
- Utilize the extensive experience available in this joint venture.
- Ensure that in five to ten years from now, fully qualified and experienced black operators will emerge from this training program.
- Create a platform of opportunity for the people of the Northern and Eastern Cape.
- Ensure a viable, sustainable and lucrative consumptive wildlife utilization heritage for future generations of our country.
