Pace of BEE too sluggish to hit 25% target

The pace of transformation of South African corporates remained too slow to achieve the 25 percent black ownership required by the government by 2017, Lerato Ratsoma, the managing director of Empowerdex, warned yesterday.

She said only 13.8 percent of corporate activity related to black economic empowerment (BEE) last year.
