Power cuts dent Hudaco outlook
Gross profit was maintained at the previous year's 38%, and with sales rising faster than expenses, pushing operating profit up to a record 14.3% of sales, Hudaco parlayed a 21% sales increase into a 41% increase in what it calls "normalised" HEPS, to 750c.
Finance director Peter Poole warns that this figure, which excludes the one-off cost of the BEE deal, won't be used by the JSE data bank, which will prefer the unqualified HEPS of 604c, but is what the company will consider as the base going forward.
