Quality management system builds international accreditation
The five companies that participated in the first, Quality Management
System (QMS) cluster through the Automotive Industry Development Centre
(AIDC), have completed most of the work required of them.
The QMS programme came about through a collaboration between the AIDC
and the Department of Trade and industry (DTI), the DTI's plan
supported the automotive industry's quality objectives, and to improve
the quality of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and black
economic-empowerment (BEE) companies, especially those in the lower
tiers of the automotive supply chain, to implement quality management
systems.
