R10bn job creation fund launched

The IDC has launched the R10bn loan scheme aimed at facilitating job creation and growing the economy in a move that follows up on a promise made by President Jacob Zuma in his 2011 state of the nation address.



Outlining the scheme in Johannesburg yesterday, IDC CEO Geoffrey Qhena said funding of the scheme to run over five years would be available at prime less 3%. "This will be across all IDC mandated sectors to businesses which demonstrate economic merit and efficiency in new job creation."
