SA leads way managing small-scale sector

REPRESENTATIVES at the first national subsistence and small scale fishing summit, sitting in Port Elizabeth, have called on the government to protect them from big business and "the new great BEE sharks".

Addressing the two-day summit yesterday, Naseegh Jaffer, director of the Masifunise Development Trust, said the communities represented were central to the government's stated concern about declining coastal and marine resources.
