SA needs 'real black empowerment: Phosa

Black economic empowerment frameworks need to be changed to enable "real" broad-based black empowerment to take place, ANC Treasurer General Matthews Phosa said on Tuesday.

"It is my view that we do not place enough emphasis in the public sector tender environment on broad based black economic empowerment, as opposed to BEE vehicles that benefit only a few," he told business people at a Swedish South Africa business breakfast in Midrand.
