Sasol apologises to BEE shareholders

Petrochemicals giant Sasol has apologised to its hundreds of thousands of BEE shareholders. It was fined R3.7 billion this week for cheating customers in Europe. This is a record fine for a South African firm.



The European Commission found that Sasol, who got the biggest fine, colluded with eight other petrochemical companies and carved up the paraffin wax market for years. The group must now pay that money out of its profits this year.
