South African wine category set for international growth as Constellation Europe seals Flagstone acquisition deal

The South African wine category globally is set for a major boost with the final signing of Constellation Europe's acquisition of Flagstone Winery, for an undisclosed sum.

The deal will see Constellation investing significantly in the South African wine industry and category. At the forefront of this push will be the internationally biggest-selling South African brand, Kumala. Working closely with long-standing Kumala winemaker, Ben Jordaan, Flagstone's Bruce Jack will direct a revitalised Kumala range by taking the brand back to specific, high-quality vineyards.
