South Africans have been 'spoiled' by easy access to abundant electrical power, says new platinum smel-ter Braemore.

On slide 33 of the JSE listing document, Braemore Resources acting CEO David Russell has a headline that reads, "South Africa: previously spoiled for access to electrical power".



For the former South African geologist and mining analyst now living in Australia, the contrast is plain: Australian mining projects have to lay on their own power themselves with no helping hand from the State while South African project developers, by contrast, have come to expect State-owned Eskom to bring elab-orate reticulation right to the mine gate.
