ALEC HOGG: In this special podcast, we speak with the Minister of Trade & Industry, Rob Davies. Minister you've had a busy couple of weeks - let's just start off with the meeting today - the orientation of the advisory council on broad-based black economic empowerment. BBBEE is a big part of your action plan for the improvement of the industrial base of South Africa. How did you select the members of this council?



ROB DAVIES: Well the members of the council were actually appointed by the President as the Act requires and it was a combination of recommendations from us and from the Presidency and at the end of the day, it was the President who made the final call.
