State is dubious about Anglo's transformation

THE government criticised Anglo American SA's transformation efforts, accusing the mining giant yesterday of failing to appoint black CEOs and enough senior managers at its business units.

The criticism is a setback to the global miner, which under CEO Cynthia Carroll has tried to mend its sometimes frosty relationship with the government.
