Synfuels expansion will rely more on gas than coal
When Sasol Synfuels increases its capacity by 20% from 2015, 5% of the expansion will rely on coal as a feedstock and 15% on natural gas.
The entry of natural gas at Secunda has meant a curtailment of growth in demand for coal and, hence, coal production.
