The matter of mines - Freedom Charter must not be used as an excuse
IT BECAME clear very early in the debate to nationalise the country's mines that the ANC-led alliance would not agree on the model for the proposed grabbing of mines.
ANC secretary-general Gwede Mantashe fired the first salvo when he warned that the party would not be dragooned into nationalising private debt under the guise of nationalising mines.
