Thembeka Capital to boost BEE

With more than R100 million available, Thembeka Capital was well positioned to exploit the credit crunch facing empowerment deals, PSG Group's black empowered investment associate said last week.

Executive chairman Zitulele "KK" Combi said that there was a scarcity of black capital for medium-sized companies to gain black equity partners. "Some deals are stuck because of a lack of credit, as banks are taking a more careful approach and want to see black investors put cash on the table," he said.
