Tourism BEE council appointed
A council to ensure that a charter on black economic empowerment (BEE) in the tourism industry is carried out has been appointed. The council will fall under the leadership of Tami Sokutu, the former director general of the public works department, and the current executive director of African Bank...
The announcement was made by Marthinus van Schalkwyk, the minister of environmental affairs and tourism, at the 4th annual national tourism conference at Sun City in the North West today. "The council members, many of whom are with us here today, will lead our BEE implementation, monitoring, and strategising for a three-year term," he said.
