Two women epitomise the broad-based beneficiary

Johannesburg - Qulu and Nozala are just two of the hundreds of committed individuals who are involved in the community development work that is partly funded by the Social Change Assistance Trust (Scat), which is one of the 23 non-governmental organisations (NGOs) that comprise Ditikeni's shareholders.

The 23 NGOs operate from 109 centres across the country, reaching more than 2 million of the poorest citizens.

Qulu and Nozala run a community advice centre in Port St Johns. From their tiny office near the town centre they provide an array of services for members of the surrounding impoverished communities who are hard pressed to scratch a living from one of the most beautiful coastal regions in the Eastern Cape.
