Vodacom to go ahead with BEE

THE R7,5bn move to bring black shareholders into Vodacom will not be derailed by the collapse of a huge deal that would have changed the cellular operator's ownership.

If anything, the plan to empower Vodacom's local operations may speed up now that a share sale between its joint owners, Telkom and Vodafone, is off, says CEO Alan Knott Craig.
